Obituary for JoAnn Parker

JoAnn Parker, 75, widow of Bronson Taylor Parker, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She was born August 13, 1938 in Lexington, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ray and Lillian (Herrington) Coyle. JoAnn retired from King's Daughter's Apartments where she served as the Activity Director. She was a member of Buck Run Baptist Church, where she was a devoted volunteer in the office, Single Moms Ministry, Mission Team and Benevolence Ministry. She also volunteered with Hospice Friends with Flowers. She was proud to receive her Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Midway College after she raised her family. JoAnn is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Marvin) Swinford; four sons, Ray (Teri) Parker, Lee (Michelle) Parker, Mike (Mincha) Parker and Bob (Tracy) Parker; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way; and all her Muddy Ford family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Stickle and Susie Ball; two brothers, Elmer Coyle and Ronald Coyle. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5pm at Johnson's Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10am Monday with Rev. Hershael York officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. JoAnn's children will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Buck Run Baptist Church or Hospice/Friends with Flowers program.
