Obituary for Ed Newton

Edward "Ed" Newton, 77, husband of Florence (Switzer) Newton, passed away Friday, August 29th, 2014. He was born April 2nd, 1937 in Owen County, Kentucky, son of the late Chester and Dessie (Reece) Newton. Ed was a member of Georgetown Church of God. He enjoyed bird watching and fishing anytime he had the chance. In addition to his beloved wife of thirty seven years, Ed is survived by one daughter, Michelle Misner; his sons-in-law, Don Misner and Andrew Westenhofer; three grandchildren, Hunter Westenhofer, Hayden Westenhofer and Sarah Jo Misner; one sister, Nettie Switzer; his mother-in-law, Joyce Switzer. Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by one daughter, Tanya Westenhofer; one sister, Elsie LaCourse; two brothers, Alvie Newton and Gerald Newton; his father-in-law, Lonnie Switzer. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8pm at Johnson's Funeral Home, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11am with Rev. Steve Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Misner, Andrew Westenhofer, Ken Bailey, Steven Bailey, Rusty Ruth and Keith Maddox.
