Helen V. “Auntie” (Rice) Thomas, 86, widow of C.N. “Dutch” Thomas, passed away Thursday, May 28th, 2015. She was born August 11th, 1928 in Georgetown, Kentucky, daughter of the late Offie and Sally Floyd (Clifton) Rice. Helen retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and was a member of Corinth Christian Church. She is survived by her sister, Juanita (Estill) Lee; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two special nephews, Justin Flynn and Jason Flynn. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Iretta McDowell and her brother, Vernon Rice. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Monday at 1pm with Rev. Heath Sherman officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Lee, Donald Flynn, Sam Ward, Junior Wright, Gary Tackett and Everett Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Donna Flynn, Sue Ward, Lucinda Irick, Phyllis Adair, Loretta Martin, Ann Whitlock and Elizabeth Curtis. Memorial contributions may be directed to Corinth Christian Church.
