Virginia B. McClanahan Fields Carter, 74, passed away Friday, August 7th, 2015. She was born June 1st, 1941 in Bourbon County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Howard and Emma Frances (Courtney) McClanahan. She adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of her family. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Tina (Derrick) Tompkins; her son, Ronald W. (Anita) Fields; five grandchildren, Tony (Amy) Fields, Amanda (Brian) Hamilton, Tyler Dean (Brittany) Wright, Landon Hunter (Reid) Wright and Kenady Tynae Tompkins; six great-grandchildren, Landrum Hamilton, Andy Hamilton, Katy Fields, Jack Fields, Memphis Wright and Brooks Wright; two sisters, Gloria (Kevin) Wingfield and Portia McClanahan; one brother, Mike (Tina) McClanahan; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Fields. Visitation will be on Monday from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Redmon officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Hamilton, Tyler Wright, Pat McClanahan, Chris McClanahan, Tony Fields and Derrick Tompkins.
