Lorraine Doan Lucas born in Scott County, KY, May 2, 1918, passed away December 16, 2015.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Shirley Lee Lucas; a beloved son, Jack Griffith Lucas;
a great-grandson, Ty Lucas; her parents, Henry and Lula Doan; a sister, Eldoris Rodgers; and a
brother, Harris Doan.

Surviving children are Betty Ann Wise, Peggy Atkins, Ted (Doris) Lucas, and daughter-in-law,
Rose Moloney Lucas. Grandsons and active pallbearers are Mark (Mary) Wise, Tony (Beth) Wise, Jay
(Debra) Lucas, Patrick Lee Lucas, Michael Lucas, David Atkins, Lee (Lanette) Atkins and Todd (Angie)
Lucas. Granddaughters and honorary pallbearers are Kimberly West, Beth Lucas, Rose Ann (Vincent)
Downs, Jennifer (Mark) Burchfield, Laurie (Chuck) Givens and Janie Schnuck. She was blessed with
twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and
nephews.

A member of Northside Christian Church, she retired from the J.C. Penney Company and also
worked in retail sales for Seymours. An avid fan of UK basketball, she prepared for game days
by wearing her UK jewelry, scarves, etc.! She also enjoyed square dancing with her husband,
fishing, playing cards and most enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

Visitation will be held December 20, 2015, from 5-8pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, and the funeral
will take place December 21, 2015, at 11am with Tommy Simpson and Nic Skinner, officiating ministers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dover Manor and Hospice of the Bluegrass for their care and
support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Christian Church Building Fund
and/or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
