Obituary for Carl Clifton Jones

Carl Clifton Jones, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19th, 2016. He was born September 16th, 1931, to the late Luther and Edith Jones. Carl was married to his beloved wife, Helen Geraldine (Gillispie) Jones on March 5th, 1956.

He is survived by his four children, Starledda Wright, Carledda Jones, Dewey (Gail) Jones and Amanda (Mark) Vance; his twelve grandchildren, Cliffton Allen (Amy) Wright, Jessica (David) Power, Bobbi (Joel) Craig, Kim (David) Tabor, Robbie (Julie) Wright, Allan (Justice) Jones, Gerald (Samantha) Jones, Derak (Abriel) Jones, Tye Vance, Cameron Vance, Jordan Vance and Shane Vance; sixteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Gene Jones; one brother-in-law, John Curtis; two sisters-in-law, Rose Griffin and Stella Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Carl was preceded in death by three sisters, Carrie Elam, Sue Jones and Genava Chaney; one brother, Ray Jones; five brothers-in-law, Bob Jones, Manuel Elam, Joe Griffin, Dan Gillispie and Russel Gillispie; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Curtis, Dorothy Jones and Mona Gillispie; one son-in-law, Wayne Wright.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Wednesday at 3pm with Pastor Terry Walters officiating. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Derak Jones, Tye Vance, Cameron Vance, Allan Jones, David Power, Allen Wright, Gerald Jones, Wayne Jones and Lewis Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be JD Curtis, Micah Curtis, Tony Curtis, Bub House, Darrell house, Ray Brumgen, Jordan Vance, Shane Vance and John Curtis.
