Billy Boyd Brown, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 at his home. He was born June 9th, 1935 in Harrison County, Kentucky, son of the late William Clay Brown and Mary Clarine (Lemons) Brown Willoughby. Billy was a general contractor and proprietor of Brown Custom Builders. He built homes, light commercial buildings and several churches over the years. He worked on construction of the Calumet Trophy Room at the Kentucky Horse Park. Billy was the first President of the Home Builders Association of Scott County. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and he served a three year church building mission. He loved to go fishing any chance he could, enjoyed woodworking, farming, watching western movies, music of all types and served as a Boy Scout leader. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Ruth Ann (Wade) Brown; four daughters, Lawona (Tony) Brown, Monica (Chris) Jacobs, Mary Alethea (Tim) Turner and Jessica Ruth Brown; five sons, Leslie (Cindy) Brown, Kelyn (Rachel) Brown, Douglas Clay Brown, Frederick (Tina) Brown and Zenos Boyd Brown; one honorary son, Godwin Garuba from Africa; thirty four grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Evelyn Warner and Twila Joy Steffey; four brothers, Bobby Clay Brown, Steven Michael Brown, Ricky Scott Brown, Gregory Lynn Brown; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his step-father, Red Willoughby; one brother, David Allen Brown. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Saturday at Noon. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason Hawkins, Shaun Hawkins, Phillip Ray, Michael Ray, Kyle Brown, Daniel Brown, Timothy Turner II, Christopher Turner, Nicholas Brown, Douglas Brown, Gunner Young; sons, Leslie Marshall Brown, Kelyn Wayne Brown, Douglas Clay Brown, Frederick Wade Brown and Zenos Boyd Brown. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Brown, Billy Brown, Johnathan Hawkins and Timothy Brown. There will be a gathering of family and friends at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 215 Wellington Way, Georgetown, following the committal service at the cemetery.
