Obituary for Edwin Lewis Eggen

Edwin Lewis Eggen, 79, passed away Friday, June 17th, 2016. He was born December 17th, 1936 in Shelby County, Kentucky, son of the late Shelburne and Iva (Hutchison) Eggen. Edwin retired from I.B.M. and was the owner/broker of Elkhorn Heritage Real Estate. He attended U.K. and was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Edwin is survived by his wife, Pat (Morrison) Eggen; his daughter, Marla Eggen (Michael) Marcum of Georgetown; his son, Dwayne (Tammi) Eggen of Corbin; four grandchildren, Christopher Eggen of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Dillon Eggen of Corbin, Kentucky, Ethan Marcum and Emerson Marcum, both of Georgetown, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30am until time of service at 12:30pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home with Pastor David Barron officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the Deacons of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 1220 Old Frankfort Pike, Versailles, Kentucky, 40383. Edwin was a faithful follower of Christ, a loving husband, father and grandfather, a good friend, and a true gentleman.
