Obituary for Travis Owens

Travis  Owens
Travis Owens, 85, passed away Wednesday, August 17th, 2016. He was born September 25th, 1930 in Knott County, Kentucky, son of the late William and Elmira (Ritchie) Owens. Travis served in the United States Army and was an avid UK fan. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jones Owens; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Jamie) Gaffney; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Jimmy (Nancy) Owens and Jeffrey (Amber) Owens and Pamela Owens; six grandchildren, Melissa Owens, Jeremy Owens, Megan Owens, Dayna Gaffney, Hunter Gaffney and Valerie Gaffney; one great-grandson, Christopher Owens; two sisters-in-law, Linda Owens and Pat Owens; a special niece, Nettie Godsey; and his beloved dog “Daisy”. In addition to his parents, Travis was preceded in death by one son, Danny Lee Owens; one sister, Nezzie Sizemore; three brothers, Neil Owens, Wilmer Owens and Jason Owens. Visitation will be Monday, August 22nd, from Noon until time of service at 2PM at Johnson’s Funeral Home, with Rev. Harry Hargis officiating. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
