Obituary for David "Dave" Ryan Gordley

David “Dave” Ryan Gordley passed away Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born January 4th, 1982 in Lexington, Kentucky, son of William L. “Bill” and Linda (Yarborough) Gordley. He graduated from Scott County High School in 2000. Dave served in the United States Air Force Reserves and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom including United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and Iraq. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting firearms and was an avid UK Wildcat fan. In addition to his parents, Dave is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, William Lee and Christina Gordley III and Michael Hunter and Amanda Gordley; Savannah Gillispie, who was like a sister to him; special friend, Ann Appleton; and several beloved nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Dave. Visitation will be Monday, January 9th, from 5 to 8pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Tuesday at 12:30pm with Pastor Rodney Goodlett and Pastor John Swinford officiating. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Anderson, Brad Herald, John Swinford, Harvey Gillispie, Jason Wright and Doug Draper. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund, 111B Louisville Road Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
