Obituary for Johnny "JT" McClanahan

Johnny T. “JT” McClanahan, 78, husband of Bonnie Lancaster McClanahan, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017. Born in Scott Co, he was the son of the late John B. and Anna Mae Jones McClanahan.

An Air Force veteran, he was a former school bus driver for Scott County Schools for over 19 years. He was an accomplished artist, gun collector and enjoyed carving on gun stocks.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his daughters, Joni Anne McClanahan, Georgetown and Tina Carol Jo (George) Pfeiffer, Adel, GA; twin sister, Mattie Thompson, Georgetown; grandchildren, Sierra (Eric) Clough and George (Charity) Shepherd, III; great grandchildren, Derek Marsh, Brody Clough, Ronin and Keagan Shepherd. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gracie Wilhoit; brothers, Joe and Bill McClanahan; and grandson, Joey Shepherd.

Visitation will be 4-7 PM Tuesday at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
