Obituary for Joyce S Stevens

Joyce S. Stevens, 83, beloved wife of Russell Gene Stevens, went to her heavenly home Monday, February 6, 2017. Born in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Scottie Towles Smith.

A former clerk with K-Mart Corp, she was an avid gardener and member of White Sulphur Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her children, Daryle (Myra) Stevens, Franklin, KY, Janet (Jimmy) Wallace, Sharon (Hurschel) Marshall and Rita Humphrey, all of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jason Humphrey, Chad Stevens, Julie (Matt) Johnson, Ryan (Sejla) Marshall, Jerica Wallace, J.R. (Rebecca) Wallace; great grandchildren, Austin Humphrey, Trevor Humphrey, Emma Marshall, Harper Johnson and Holden Johnson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Smith; sister, Mary Seals; and special nephew, Tim Seals.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. John Cravens. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Visitation will be 5-8PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Sulphur Baptist Church, Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
