Virginia Humphreys Atkins Freeman, 104, widow of Eugene Atkins and Theodore Freeman, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Born in Mt. Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Vivian Gustafson Humphreys.

A former secretary with Greyhound and the University of Kentucky, she was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Clemmie) Atkins, Lexington and Barbara (Donald) Duff, McDonald, TN; grandchildren, Ginger Vitrano, Don Duff, Pat Duff, Julie Fletcher, Andy Duff, Jay Atkins and Ryan Atkins; as well as 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 AM Saturday at the Lexington Cemetery. Johnson’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
