Ella Russell Slone, 96, widow of Jasper Newton Slone, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Born in Magoffin County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Ramey Russell.

She retired as an associate with J.C. Penny and was a long-time member of First Christian Church. She farmed with her husband and enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Jodie Davis (Scott) Owings, Somerset, KY, Bette Slone Robinson and Rusty (Gina) Slone, both of Lexington; great grandchildren, Camron and Ashlyn Owings; brother, Troy Russell, Georgetown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Russell J. Slone and Patricia Slone Davis; sister, Marie Ruparel; brothers, Ernie, Earl, Albert and Roy Russell.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12 PM till service time on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
