Obituary for Leo Dominic Stevens Jr.

Leo Dominic Stevens, Jr, 85, husband of Irene Perkins Stevens, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Born in Scott County, he was the son of the late Leo D. and Emma Katherine Burke Stevens, Sr.

A former driver with Sallee Horse Vans for more than 21 years. He was a true Papaw in every way. He loved being with his grandchildren taking them every year to his favorite place, the Kentucky Horse Park Campground. He was loved by many and will be missed by many. He was also a member of St. John Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his daughters, Janie Greenup Mallory and Kathy (Wyatt) Hoffman, both of Georgetown; brother, Bobby (Judy) Stevens, Lexington; grandchildren, Taylor (Ashley Wells) Mallory, Laura Hoffman, Wyatt Hoffman II and Mary Kate Hoffman; as well as a one great grandchild, Luca Mallory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Alice Sparks, Florence Holland and Mary Katherine Tackett. The family would like to give “thanks” to all the nurses and aides at Signature for their love and service.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday at Cardome Centre, conducted by Rev. Linh Nguyen and Bro. Harry Hargis. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time Saturday at Cardome. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Friends Farm, 1841 Paynes Depot Rd, Georgetown, KY 40324.
