Gabbard
Obituary for Walter Louis Gabbard
A retired professional horse groomer with Castleton Farm for 32 years, he enjoyed fishing, was an avid UK basketball and wrestling fan.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Robert) Burd; sons, Michael (Melissa) Gabbard and Jeffrey Gabbard; sister, Vina Huff; grandchildren, Jennifer Iversen, Wayne Burd, Brandon Gabbard, Michael, Robyn, Cynthia and Courtney Gabbard, Samantha Glisson, Jessica Gabbard, Josh Gabbard and Kim Dunn; daughter in law, Pam Gabbard; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children, Walter Louis Gabbard, JR and Sheila “Sissy” Gabbard; brothers, James “Polly” and Robert Gabbard; sisters, Vernal Pollard, Margaret Davis and Alberta Courtney.
Graveside service will be 1 PM Thursday at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 -12:45 PM at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
