Obituary for Betty Jo Darnell

Betty Jo Darnell, 77, wife of Frank C. Darnell, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Born in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Pearl Jones Wells.

A member of Dry Run Baptist Church, she enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She was dedicated to her family, and was known to host many functions for friends and family.

In addition to her excellent husband of 63 years, she is survived by her sons, Ricky (Audrey) Darnell, Frank Jr.(Donna) Darnell and Tommy (Mary) Darnell; grandchildren, Greg Darnell, Julia (Robbie) Huellemeier, Austin Myers, Kevin (Theresa) Darnell, Jennifer (Beau) Covey, Eric Darnell, Bradley (Haley) Darnell; adopted granddaughter, Katilyn Krizman; great grandchildren, Gwyneth and Owen Huellemeier, Jordan, Trace and Addison Darnell, Briana Maggard and Colin Covey; special nieces, Pam Dunn and Brenda Wilson; special friends, Dorothy Lyons and Becky Sams.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Rob Ginter. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery, Stamping Ground, KY. Grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Freeman Lyons, Jackie Covington, Tod Darnell, Durard Glass, Junior Wright and John Vance. Visitation will be 5-8 PMThursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators (formerly Hospice of the Bluegrass).
