Obituary for Charles Edward "Eddie" Robison

Charles Edward Robison (Eddie), 59 of Georgetown, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Baptist Hospital Lexington. Eddie was born November 4, 1957. He was employed by Toyota Motor Manufacturing from 1987 -2017. Prior to employment with Toyota, Eddie was an electrician and member of I.B.E.W Local 1701 in Owensboro, Kentucky and served as an instructor for the electrical apprenticeship program at Owensboro Daviess County Vocational Center for two years. He served his hometown community as a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Beechmont Fire Department in Muhlenberg County Kentucky.

Eddie’s true vocational calling was ministry. He was an ordained minister who served as Associate Pastor of Harvest Baptist Church in Georgetown, KY. He later served as Associate Pastor of Gano Baptist Church in Georgetown, KY. Additionally serving as Outreach Minister of The Gathering Place Mission working with a small group of dedicated Georgetown College students establishing the foundations of what has since become the non-profit organization “The Gathering Place” which currently provides shelter and assistance for the homeless.

Bro. Eddie Robison had the honor of pastoring Caney Fork Baptist Church, Owenton, Kentucky. This was the time of his life and ministry that he cherished most and his heart will forever remain with those he served there. He mentored many and loved greatly. God richly blessed his life.

Eddie was actively establishing works that would outlive his physical life wherever he went. He led study groups at each church where he served and was passionate about teaching others how to share the light of the love of God in their own lives. He led the R.E.A.L Men’s Group at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, led in the founding of a children’s ministry outreach at Gano Baptist Church, and faithfully led other study groups too numerous to mention.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Sherry. His sons Logan Robison and Brent Robison and one grandson, Ian
Thomas Robison all of Georgetown. Two sisters: Marie Brown of Bremen, Kentucky and Dorothy Cates of Madisonville, Kentucky and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Johnson’s Funeral Home Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 4:30 to 7:30pm. Funeral service will be Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 2:00pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, Georgetown. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery in Muhlenberg County at a later date.
