Brenda Dianne Hardenbrook Wahler, 67, Georgetown, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017.
Brenda was born July 18, 1950 in Piqua, OH to the late Frank and Fay Hardenbrook. She is survived by three children, David Wahler, Georgetown, Beth Wahler (Kristy Gardenour), Plainfield, IN, Jonathan (Grace) Wahler, North Aurora, IL; one grandchild, Chase Gardenour, Plainfield, IN. Siblings, Marvin (Fae) Hardenbrook, Delaware, OH and Marilyn (Gaynor) Millhouse, Piqua, OH survive her along with numerous nieces and nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Reynold (Joyce) Hardenbrook, Covington, OH. Her precious dog, Beau, came to live with her about 6 months before her diagnosis but quickly became her constant companion. He made her worst days better simply by being at her side as he was until the end.
She was a member of Georgetown First United Methodist Church and was a self-employed realtor for many years most recently affiliated with Bluegrass Real Estate Alliance (formerly known as Signature) and for many years with Rector-Hayden Realtors. She was also an area supervisor and department supervisor at the Georgetown Kohls prior to her illness. The passion derived from both of these jobs was her love for people and helping others. Many people she helped became friends who went on to become like family.
Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses involved in her care at the Markey Cancer Center at UK, along with her many friends and co-workers. A special thanks to the entire staff and management team of Kohls of Georgetown. From the time of diagnosis in August 2016, they rallied around and supported her. Their love was evident to all. Many more of you were her angels here on earth buoying her up when she needed it most and we thank you.
A memorial service will be 6 PM Thursday at Georgetown First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 4 PM till service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care (formerly Hospice of the Bluegrass), 1317 US HWY 62 E, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
