Obituary for Samuel Edward "Sam" Brewer

Samuel “Sam” Edward Brewer, 82, husband of Marjore (Correll) Brewer, passed away Friday, September 1st, 2017. He was born July 17th, 1935 in Perry County, Kentucky, son of the late William Henry and Rhoda (Combs) Brewer. Sam graduated from M.C. Napier High School in Perry County, where he was the Valedictorian of his class. He served in the United States Marines and retired from Square D Corporation where he was a manager. In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by his daughter, Bobbie (Johhny) Farris; his son, Ben (Whitney) Brewer; three grandchildren, Brody Brewer, Macy Sue Brewer and Tiffany Hawkins; three great-grandchildren, Tavian Daughtery, Braydon Hawkins and Gracyn Graves; two sisters, Betty (Dave) Richmond and Sue (Jason) Alford; one brother, Joe (Mary) Brewer. Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sue Brewer; two sisters, Cora Snapp and Nora Ingram; two brothers, Oscar Brewer and Corbett Brewer. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5th from 5 to 7pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday with Pastor John Cravens officiating. Burial will be in The Field Of Honor at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Farris, Ronnie Lakes, Jeff Lawson, Michael Brewer, Luke Brewer, Glenn Martin and Danny Philpot. The Brewer family would like to thank the VA Dialysis Unit on Cooper Drive in Lexington and Bluegrass hospice Care for their loyal and faithful service of Samuel.
