Roger Kenneth Burton, 74, husband of Barbara (Brumley) Burton, passed away Monday, September 25th, 2017. He was born January 8th, 1943 in Georgetown, Kentucky, son of the late Ivan and Ruthie Mae (Fain) Burton. Roger served in the United States Army. In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Jerry) Allmon of St. Petersburg, Florida and Ruth Ann Sanders of Ider, Alabama; two step-daughters, Anna (Corey Williams) Jones of Lexington and Tajuana Brake (Chris) Hamm of Lexington; two step-sons, David (Deana) Brake and Ronnie (Kim) Brake, all of Georgetown; eight grandchildren, Joseph Chaney, Brian Pinkert, Jared Allmon, Danny Bailey, Christana Sanders, Charlie Sanders, Zoey Sanders, Francis Ann Bond; seven step-grandchildren, Dylan Brake, Megan Brake, Ronnie Brake, Earon Brake, Haley Mason, Elizabeth Royalty and Ashley Royalty; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; four sisters, Barbara Mohrmann of Versailles, Joyce Shannon of Wilmington, Ohio, Ruby Stockley of Lexington and Wanda Murphy of Tennessee. Besides his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Burton; one grandson, Josh Bailey; one step-grandson, Austin Royalty; one sister, Linda McGuffey; three brothers, Donald Burton, Paul Burton and Ray Burton. Visitation will be Friday, September 29th from 5 to 8pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Saturday at 11am. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery with Military Honors provided by The American Legion Honor Guard Post Number 24 of Georgetown. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Burton, Danny Brumley, Brian Brumley, Ronnie Brake, Dylan Brake and Larry Brumley.
