Obituary for Sandra Faye Offutt Keeney

Sandra Faye Offutt Keeney, 68, caregiver and widow of James Keeney, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017. Born in London, KY, she was the daughter of the late Paul Lewis and Mildred Lawson Gaines.

A member of Trinity Assembly Church, she loved to travel, going to the Bluegrass Festival and was an avid supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association. She opened the first assisted living home in Georgetown.
She is survived by her children, Forrest Thomas (Dawn) Offutt, Angela (Patrick) Damron and Teresa (Michael) Wethington; siblings, Phyllis (Chester) Gilliam, Brenda Derringer, Glenda (Homer) Rader, Dencil (Diana) Gaines, Michael (Carrie) Gaines and David (Patricia) Gaines; as well as 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Leon Gaines; granddaughter, Angela Paige Damron and brother-in-law, William Derringer.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Stanley Holder. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Brandon Offutt, Patrick Damron, David Damron, Jacob Wagner, Jared Wagner, Dencil Gaines, David Gaines, Mike Gaines and Homer Rader. Visitation will be 12 PM till service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators (formerly Hospice of the Bluegrass).
