Obituary for Lorraine Marie Farrell (Moylan)

Lorraine Marie Farrell, 54, wife of Gilbert John Anthony Farrell, passed away Monday, February 5th, 2018. She was born September 25th, 1963 in London, England, daughter of the late Patrick James and Bernadette (Glass) Moylan. Lorraine was a member of Ss. Francis & John Catholic Parish. She was devoted to her children and family. Lorraine was a gifted equestrian, who worked with horses her entire life. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, arts and crafts, especially knitting, and volunteering and teaching at St. John Catholic School. Lorraine loves to bake, her Bourbon Peach Pie took home countless ribbons at Bourbon County and Kentucky State Fairs. She also had an unwavering love of Ireland, her home. Lorraine attended St. Bernadette’s Primary School in Uxbridge, England and Portumna Community School in County Galway, Ireland. After being recognized for her talent training horses, Lorraine moved to Switzerland to work alongside Max Hauri and his world class dressage and show jumping team. Upon her return to Ireland, she enrolled in the internationally renowned Irish National Stud course. Throughout her career, Lorraine worked for both Godolphin Ireland and Godolphin USA. In addition to her husband, Lorraine is survived by her two daughters, Ciara Farrell and Sarah Farrell; her two sons, Patrick Farrell and Sean Farrell; her sister, Sharon Moylan; and her aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family in Ireland. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8th at Johnson’s Funeral Home from 5 to 8pm with Rosary at 7:30PM. The Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 9th at 3:30 PM at St. John Catholic Church with Father Linh Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Gilbert Farrell, Michael Banahan, Dan Mardell, and Shane Doyle. Lorraine dedicated her life to educating her children in their Catholic faith and traditions. To continue her legacy and to honor her wish for a Catholic education for her children, a memorial fund has been established. Memorial funds can be directed to the Ss. Francis and John Catholic Parish.
