Obituary for Emily Lewis (Willis)

Emily Willis Lewis, 89, widow of Harry Lee Lewis, passed away Friday, February 16th, 2018 at her home. She was born September 30th, 1928 in Richmond, Kentucky, daughter of the late Johnny and Annie B. (Miller) Willis. Emily was a member of Great Crossing Missionary Baptist Church. She loved cooking, sewing and being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Emily also enjoyed fishing with her husband anytime they could. She is survived by six daughters, Sandra Lewis, Betty Williams, Phyllis (Duwan) Jackson, Emily (Larry) Williams, Judith (Steve) Washington and Judy (Rocky) Hawkins; five sons, James (JoAnn) Lewis, Harry (Joyce) Lewis, Russell Lewis, Tony (Sicerea) Lewis and Keith (Tina) Lewis; sixty-five grand children and great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and two on the way; two sisters, Louise Smith and Barbara Chandler; two sisters-in-law, Hattie Willis and Lula Taylor. In addition to her parents and beloved husband of sixty-six years, Emily was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Andy Williams; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Jones; one sister, Hester Clayborne; one brother, John Willis; one sister-in-law, Alice McCall. Visitation will be Saturday, February 24th from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Great Crossing Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Christopher, Marjo Leach, Harry Nichols, James Williams, Tony Bailey, Charles Washington II and Taurus Burdette. Honorary pallbearers will be Taron Lewis, Duwan Jackson, Jr., Lance Snowden, Torey Bailey and Tyler Bailey.
