Me and Big Mike knew each other through mutual friends back in school, found ourselves at the same places back then from time to time through this connection, and always had laughs to share when that happened. Even then I could tell he had a kind heart that was very magnetic to those around him-he was popular and a very liked young man by those who knew him. A couple years ago, we reconnected on social media after seeing a post I had made about my daughter and her horse. We would connect from time to time on our mutual love for horses and he would tell me stories about his and how much peace they brought to him. The last time we corresponded was over the winter, and we talked about our bonds we had with our daughters and how similar he could tell those relationships were. What I thought was important to say here, although I know his precious young daughter knows, is he told me how important she was to him, and she was the center of his heart. I told him a father and daughter’s bond was a special type of bond-he simply stated “being her daddy was my favorite part of life.” Big Mike, your love will live on in her heart-and I pray she receives peace and comfort, and the strength of knowing her daddy loved her more than anything in this world! Rest In Peace Brother, you will truly be missed by those who loved you so much!
