Sally C. Parker Kitchen, 72, wife of John P. Kitchen, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Leon and Ruby Faye Parker.
A former teacher, Sally was dedicated to her family. A member of the Homemakers Club of Scott County, she was an active member of Oxford Christian Church, serving as an Elder and served in various ministries, including the Share The Joy and Georgetown Community Medical Mission.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, she is survived by her daughters, Amy Kitchen Dunn (Doug Adams), Jill Kitchen Coleman (Jim Sizemore) and Ellie Kitchen (Shawn Vannarsdall); grandchildren, Allie Dunn, Briana Coleman, Austin Litteral, Kinston Coleman, Blake Coleman, Johnny Whitfield and Chelsea Vannarsdall; siblings, Faye (Harold) Marshall, Molly Carroll, Don Leon (Joyce) Parker, Judy (Bill) Thompson, Bob (Mary Ruth) Parker and George (Nellie) Parker.
The family would like to thank Amanda Clark, Loretta Centers, Sandy Darnell and Kimber Darnell for the kindness, love and care shown to Sally and the family.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday at Johnson’s Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Chris Cash, Rev. Eddie Parker and Patti Reese. Casket bearers will be Jim Eubank, James Stone, David B. Glass, Hugh J. Turner, Eugene Thomas Smith, Bob Gazillo, Frank Wiseman, Kinston Coleman, Austin Litteral and Blake Coleman. Honorary bearers will be Reba Stone, Martha Ann Graves, Marie Probst, Trudy Wiglesworth, Kaye Wiseman and Barbara Bourgeois. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday.
