Obituary for Anita Valtierra (Cruz)

Anita Cruz Valtierra, 92, widow of Daniel Valtierra, passed away Wednesday, February 8th, 2017. She was born April 17th, 1924 in Miami, Arizona, daughter of the late Jose and Pomposa (Ibarra) Cruz. Anita was a member of St. John Catholic Church and she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and was an avid walker. She is survived by her two daughters, Consuelo (Pepe) Iniguez and Celia Valtierra; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Petra (Hector) Miranda and Isidra Salas. In addition to her parents and husband, Anita was preceded in death by her brothers, Francisco Cruz and Rodolfo Cruz. Visitation will be Sunday, February 12th from 5pm to 9pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1pm on Monday at St. John Catholic Church with Father Linh Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Iniguez, George Carillo, Danny Iniguez, James Iniguez, Enrique Mendoza, Andres Mendoza, Armando Ortega, Rigo Rios, Abel Gomez, Martin Martinez, Dolores Garrido and Jonathan Flores.
