Obituary for Yvonne Carson Greenwalt

Yvonne (Carson) Greenwalt, 73, widow of Bill C. Greenwalt, passed away Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018. She was born July 22nd, 1944, in Greenville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Vaughn F. and Ruby (Loggins) Carson. Yvonne was a member of Northside Christian Church. She retired after many years as a teacher in the public school system. Yvonne was active in the community theater, where she had roles in Charlotte’s Web, Mother Hicks, Big River and Pajama Game. She enjoyed traveling, reading and, most of all, being with her family and grandchildren. Yvonne is survived by her two daughters, Susanna (Michael) McQueary and Julianna (Fred) Lux; three grandchildren, Hunter McQueary, Conner McQueary and Delaney Lux; one sister, Donnie (Benny) Carson-Bryson; her brother, Glen (Raye) Carson; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy Carson-Foster and William Foster. Visitation will be Sunday from 5PM until time of service at 7PM at Johnson’s Funeral Home with Reverend Nic Skinner and Reverend Scott Coburn officiating. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Greenville, South Carolina. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael McQueary, Fred Lux, Hunter McQueary, Glen Carson, Jody Bryson, Dave McMann, Will Bryson and Bryson McMann. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Amen House, Post Office Box 211, Georgetown, Kentucky, 40324; The American Cancer Society, 1504 College Way, Lexington, Kentucky, 40502; or to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US Highway 62 East, Cynthiana, Kentucky, 41031.
