Yvonne Marie (Wainwright) Worthington Thornburg, 87, widow of Oscar “Ozzie” Shields Thornburg, Jr., passed away Sunday, July 8th, 2018. She was born January 15th, 1931 in London, England, daughter of the late James and Georgina (Ellis) Wainwright. Yvonne was an animal lover. She was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and adored by her family. Yvonne is survived by her two daughters, Diane Worthington Gibson and JoAnn (Allen Adams) Worthington; her granddaughter, Allison Marie Gibson; two brothers, Vernon (Margaret) Wainwright and Robert Wainwright; her special friend, Rita Johnson. In addition to her parents and husband, Yvonne was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Darrell Gibson, Sr.; one sister, Helen Wainwright; one brother, Howard Wainwright; the father of her children, Joe Worthington. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 13th at 10:30am at Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US Highway 62E, Cynthiana, Kentucky, 41031 or to the Scott County Humane Society, 751 Slone Drive, Suite #13, Georgetown, Kentucky, 40324.
