Obituary for John R. Campbell

John R. Campbell, 86, husband of Frances M. (Martin) Campbell, passed away Friday, September 21st, 2018. He was born April 23rd, 1932 in Oskaogulsa, Kansas, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Johnson) Campbell. John served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 24 in Georgetown, where he served with the honor guard. John was a manager for Trans World Airlines (TWA) for thirty-two years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer. In addition to his beloved wife, John is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Thomas (E.J.) Campbell and John Paul Campbell; one sister, JoAnn Smith; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Bruggerman and his brother, Jack Campbell. Visitation will be Friday, September 28th, at Johnson’s Funeral Home from 11am until time of service at Noon with Reverend Greg Gallaher officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, Kentucky with full military honors provided by American Legion Post 24 of Georgetown. Memorial contributions may be directed to Georgetown First United Methodist Church, 1280 Lexington Road, Georgetown, Kentucky 40324.
