Donnie “Don” Lloyd Brandenburg, 80, husband of Wanda (Barrett) Brandenburg, passed away Wednesday, September 26th, 2018. He was born September 8th, 1938 in Georgetown, Kentucky, son of the late Colonel Taylor Brandenburg and Nancy (Gray) “Big Momma” Brandenburg. Don served in the United States Marines and had owned Brandenburg Trucking. He enjoyed racing cars when he was younger. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by four sons, Donnie (Angela Miley) Brandenburg II, Ronnie Lee Brandenburg, Charlie Brandenburg and, Eddie (Lara) Hirst; one daughter, Eva Marie Spain; two step-sons, Donald Combs and Ricky (Julie) Wolfinbarger; two step-daughters, Debra Combs and Elisa Barto; nine grandchildren, Trinity Dawn Hodge, Christopher Brandenburg, Tyler Brandenburg, Michael Brandenburg, Austin “Nate” Brandenburg, Breanna Brandneburg, Anthony Noel, Kaitlyn Hirst and Brandon Hirst; five great-grandchildren, Lain Brandenburg, Taylor Brandenburg, Lillian Brandenburg, Mia Hodge and Chandler Hodge; two sisters, Gloria (Floyd) Mudd and Judy Brandenburg; one brother, Herman Brandenburg. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda Joyce Caldwell Brandenburg; one daughter, Glenna Donnette; one son, Jonathon Douglas Brandenburg. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30th, from 4 to 7PM at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Monday at 11am with Pastor David Brock officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Brandenburg, Ronnie Brandenburg, Ricky Brandenburg, Eddie Hirst, David Brandenburg and Estill McKinney. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Wolfinbarger.
