Obituary for Robert Henry "Bob" Marshall

Robert “Bob” Henry Marshall, 85, widower of Arbra Della (Noel) Marshall, passed away Saturday, October 27th, 2018. He was born October 5th, 1933 in Scott County, Kentucky, son of the late Lew Wallace and Stella (Vance) Marshall. He had lived in Dubois County, Indiana from 1958 to 2004. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 24 of Georgetown and was a member of Porter Christian Church. He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad after forty-four years. Bob was also an honored Kentucky Colonel, avid University of Kentucky fan and an accomplished fisherman. Bob is survived by his two daughters, Beverly Jane Marshall and Rhonda Marshall (Michael) Kelly; his grandson, Andrew Marshall Kelly; two sisters, Aline M. Chowning and Angela M. (Lawrence) Gilbert; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by the mother of his daughters, Lula Marshall; two sisters, Mary Ella Marshall Blasi and Dorothy Marshall Black. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30th, from 11am until time of service at 1pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Oetzel and Reverend Benny Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Porter Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post 24 of Georgetown. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Rob Coyle, Greg Coyle, Jim Bigham, Ollie Wallace, Rand Marshall and John Chowning. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Therley Reed, Virgil Marshall, Hubert Morgan, Richard Berg, Jeff Mellon and Paul Haluszczak.
