Obituary for Rita Lumpkin (Rabe)
Rita Lumpkin, née Rabe 98, passed away in Richmond, KY in hospice on Jan 19, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born in Haddon Heights, NJ, to the late Clara and Robert Rabe, Rita was a long-time resident of Delaware and later relocated to Jenner’s Pond in West Grove, PA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert E. Lumpkin, Jr. sisters Kathryn (Kay) Butler, Maris Spotts, Esther Mayfield and brother Robert Rabe.
She is survived by her son Robert E Lumpkin, III, Granddaughter Nancy Sowers (David), Grandson Robert E. Lumpkin, IV. (Darci) and Great Grandchildren Morgan Johnson, Ty Lumpkin and Parker Sowers.
Rita worked for the IRS, was a Candy Striper as well as a member of Order of Eastern Star. She was fiercely independent, an adventurous soul who loved to travel the world and had passion for golf and bridge. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family in Illinois.
