Marie Martin, 86, widow of William “Ed” Martin, passed away on Sunday, January 20th, 2019. She was born January 25th, 1932 in Jeffersonville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alton and Myrtle (Ousley) Kendrick. Marie was a charter member of The Old Paris Road Church of God and a member of The Man-O-War Church of God. She was a member of the Lexington Legends Booster Club and was affectionately known as “Team Grandma” by everyone at the stadium. Marie is survived by her daughter, Patty Ousley; her son, Larry (Amy) Martin; three grandsons, William Burton, Alex Martin and Matthew Mullins; three great-grandsons, Sebastian Martin, Liam Burton and Bodhi Burton; one great-grandson on the way, Ascher Martin; two sisters, Nancy Ritchie and Mary Jo (Howard) Martin; four brothers, Alton (Maureen) Kendrick Jr., Ellis Kendrick, Mike Kendrick and Darrell Kendrick; a special niece, Beverly Simpson; her best friend, Joy Jones. In addition to her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Eddie Ousley; one sister, Phyllis Sweat; one sister-in-law, Lucille Kendrick. At Marie’s request, there will be no services.
