A greeter with Kroger, Ron was born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky. In high school he enjoyed playing for the school football team and would also play golf.
He and his first wife, Frances Hancock, met while in school and married November 9th, 1973 at the First Church of Nazarene in Henderson. They had two children together, their son, Ronald Keith Barron, Jr. and daughter Lori Jean Barron, both born in Henderson, Kentucky.
They decided to move their young family to Wadsworth, Nevada and Ron began training at the police academy to begin a new path. This led to a fulfilling career with the police force, which he was proud to be a part of during his time living in Nevada. He served for around 10 years with his fellow officers in the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony police department as a Sergeant, and friendships he formed there lasted throughout his life.
Ron's roots in the bluegrass state drew him back to his hometown of Henderson for a while before he settled in Georgetown, where he met, Jeri Wells. This relationship gave Ron his grandson, Kolton Race, which he was happy to spoil.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and would take group trips with friends over the years to races. He loved vacationing in Florida with family, listening to southern gospel music, cheering on the UK Wildcats and had a "green thumb" with plants.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Barron, Jr. of Georgetown, KY and daughter Lori Barron of Wadsworth, Nevada. His children were the light of his life and he was the absolute best Dad that they could ever ask for. He was more than just a supportive parent, he was their best friend. As well as his father, he is also survived by a brother, David Barron and sister, Sharron Enlow all of Henderson, KY.
Ron also had many other extended family members, including Vanessa Race and Donald Race, many close friends and co-workers and another daughter, Brittney Diaz.
A casual memorial, gathering for family and friends was held Sunday, April 7th 2019 at his residence.
