Peggy Lee (James) Dewes, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019. She was born on February 26th, 1941 in Georgetown, Kentucky, daughter of the late Davis Tyree and Ann Serena (Barkley) James. Peggy retired from Georgetown Middle School, where she had worked in the cafeteria for many years. She loved to garden and then to can the food she had grown. Peggy enjoyed spending time with her friends and going out to eat with them every Friday night and Saturday morning. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. (Douglas) Pike; her son, David G. Dewes; three grandchildren, Serena Pike, Jessica Pike and Travis Dewes; three great-grandchildren, Derek Dewes, Dylan Dewes and Bentley Dewes; one step great granddaughter, Christina Roman; one brother, Larry (Marlene) James. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by one son, Mark Wayne Dewes; two brothers, Bill James and Bobby James. There will be a Celebration of Life visitation held on Saturday, May 25th, at Johnson’s Funeral Home from 3 to 6pm.
