I was devastated to read this in the paper today. My thoughts and prayers are with Danny, Marky, DJ and all of the Parker family on this monumental loss. She is a beautiful young lady. Please take comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of our Lord and reunited with her sweet, beautiful mother.

A friend reminded me in prayer last night that the phrase, “God will never give us more than we can bear” is not a true statement. It is a man made statement and people often say it during times of loss. This statement sort of comes from the Bible but is misquoted and misunderstood. The verse in the Bible is actually referring to temptation, and it is true that God will always provide us a way out of temptation if we allow him to. This bible verse has nothing to do with God giving us grief though. This statement makes it sound as though he will give us “just enough” that we can handle it and makes us believe we should be able to therefore handle whatever comes our way in life. This is wrong altogether though because God is not the source of grief, quite the opposite. This tragedy of losing Faith IS MORE than I can bear and IS MORE than my family and all those who love Faith can bear. I think about my sister most when I say this and for the first time since losing her, I can say, “I’m glad she’s not still here for this”. She couldn’t bear the pain of losing her precious Faith. For those of us who are still here, we can’t bear it alone, it is too much. I am so glad I know the one who can help me bear it and it is my prayer that all those who know and love Faith know him as well. He is the Prince of Peace; he gives us peace, not grief. I love you Faith. Prayers of peace for Danny, Marky, Dj, and all of my family who will always love Faith.
