Obituary for Roy Edward Edington

Roy Edward Edington, 52, husband of Lisa Cross Edington, passed away on Sunday, February 28th, 2021. He was born August 23rd, 1968 in Versailles, Kentucky, son of Ruth Ann (Mason) Hancock and the late Albert Thomas Edington Sr. Roy served in the United States Marines for four years and was a Sargent at Camp Pendleton in California. He was a tow operator with Robert’s Towing in Lexington and he enjoyed anything to do with tow trucks. He was an avid reader and enjoyed writing and lifting weights. In addition to his wife and mother, Roy is survived by his children, Alexandria (Kory) Buchta, Jacob Buchta, Marissa Broughton, Kassondra Edington and Allesondra Edington; two grandchildren, Eleanor and Jonah; two sisters, Lisa (Wayne) Terry and Mary Arthur; one brother, Robert Edington; his step-mother, Brenda Edington; several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Roy was preceded by a brother, Albert Thomas Edington Jr. and his step-father, Doug Hancock. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation held on Friday, March 5th from 6 to 9pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
