Obituary for Mary "Wende" Harney
Mary Wendell “Wende” Flood Harney, 66, wife of Danny Ray Harney, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021. Born in Annapolis, MD, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Anne Elliott Flood.
Wende retired from Scott County High School after 19 years focusing on languages and the distance learning programs. Wende enjoyed traveling, especially cruising and Disney, was a hunter-jumper horse rider and loved taking walks with her dog. She was also a member of Newtown Christian Church.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband of 45 years, she is survived by her daughters, Beth (Mark) Rosa and Sarah Catherine (Brandon) Hubbard; grandchildren, Jack Logan Rosa, Hailey Elsa Rosa, Ella Grace Hubbard, Aidan Joseph Hubbard and Bailey Ray Hubbard; and mother-in-law, Christine Harney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, J.T. Harney. She enjoyed the company and comfort of her home healthcare team, especially Elaine Christopher, Wilma Cole and the team with Bluegrass Hospice Care for the last two years.
A celebration of life gathering will be 11AM-1 PM Tuesday at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, KY at 2 PM.
