Obituary for Leona Beckett
Leona W. Beckett, 89, widow of John Beckett, Jr, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022. Born in Scott County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Pauline C. Bruin and Marshall Williamson.
Lea was a Quality Control Inspector with Standard Products in Lexington and retired after 34 years of service. She later served as a cashier for 12 years with Transylvania University. She enjoyed meeting with her retirement group, watching old westerns and listening to country music, but most enjoyed time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Beckett Kenney, Lexington and Steven Kyle (Marlo Watts) Beckett, Decatur, IN; one surviving sibling, a brother, Shirley Eugene (June) Williamson; 5 grandchildren, Travis Kenney, Arianna Beckett, Ian (Victoria) Beckett, Braden Beckett and Noah Beckett; as well as 6 great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be 4-7 PM Friday, April 8 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
