Obituary for Rhonda Lae Hall

Rhonda Lae Hall, 62, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, after a fierce battle with cancer.

Rhonda spent the last ten years working toward and becoming a surgical technician on the Labor & Delivery floor at Central Baptist Hospital in Downtown Lexington. This was a career she started late in life, having spent most of her adult life in Michigan as a dedicated stay at home mom and administrative assistant to all in the Troy School District food service division, and ultimately fulfilling her dream to spend her days working in an operating room. She was known by her peers at the hospital as the “Blue Flash”, for the way she swiftly darted around the hospital floor.

Rhonda had an uncanny ability to bring light to even the darkest of moments, making just about anyone laugh when they least expected it. This was a gift made possible by her twisted sense of humor, unyielding strength in the face of adversity, and an unrelenting compassionate nature.

She raised three children, but was a mother to many more – her home and heart were always open to those who needed a good laugh, a shoulder to cry on, a pat on the head, or a place to just get some motherly advice.

Rhonda is survived by her three children, Mike, Alexis and Kirsten Corsaut, her beloved Partner-in-Crime (referred to casually as the “pool boy”) Robert Shade, siblings Eric and Linda Williams, and her two dogs Eddie and Chester. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Joan Hall, and her siblings Shelley Klepfer and Noel Hall.

No services are being held, but the family hopes to plan a small memorial gathering in her honor in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Rhonda’s name to the Scott County Humane Society.
