Michael Edward Schornick Sr., 77, passed away on Friday, October 21st, 2022. He was born September 5, 1945 in Milan, Indiana, son of the late Clyde Schornick and Wanda (Rollins) Pirtle. Mike retired from The Blackburn Correctional Complex where he was a Lieutenant Corrections Officer. Mike served in the United States Army and was a member of VFW Post 680 of Lexington.

Mike is survived by his two sons, Michael Edward (Tonya) Schornick Jr. and David Wayne (Rhonda) Schornick; two grandchildren, Michael Edward Schornick III and Morgan R. (Tyler) Sargent; two great-grandchildren, Benson Rollins Sargent and Sophia Sargent; his sister, Nancy (Carl) Bates; his friends at Rose & Jim’s. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his step-father, Donald Pirtle.

Graveside service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky with Pastor Chester Palmer officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Schornick Jr., David Wayne Schornick, Michael Schornick III, Tyler Sargent, John B. Lucas III and John McKenzie.
