Obituary for Chaynce Jawaun Smith
Chaynce Jawaun Smith, 13, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023. Born in Lexington, he was the son of Melvin Robinson, Kamika and Rae’Shawn Coates.
An artistic student at Royal Springs Middle School, he loved football and played football at Royal Springs Middle as well as Georgetown Parks & Rec. He enjoyed going to the gym and playing basketball, playing on his X-Box, eating fried chicken, pizza and "cereo", drawing and making people laugh.
He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Lexington and had a caring heart for everyone he met.In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Deontaye Milliken, Montayia Milliken and Sanaa Kidd; grandmothers, Constance Lewis and Tamara Harris; grandfather, Michael Smith.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church conducted be Rev. Edward Allen. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers will be Deontaye Milliken, Braxton Webb, Jalen Brent, Jameson Owens, Jamarlon Herring and DeShawn Price. Honorary bearers will be Rae’Shawn Coates, Lance Crocker, Joel Johnson and Morton Kidd Jr. Visitation will be 12 PM till service time.
