Obituary for Anna May Steele Oliver

Anna May Steele Oliver, 78, widow of Lewis Layton Oliver, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Georgetown Community Hospital.

A native of Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Carlton "Pete" and Ethel May Cook Steele.

Anna was going to be retiring this coming Monday after 60 years as an administrative secretary to the late Hillary J. Boone and Wimbledon Farm. She was a member of Arlington Christian Church, Lexington and the Eastern Hills Homemakers.

She was a person whose lifelong loving, unselfish example will forever be remembered and imprinted on the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

"Annie" as her family lovingly called her, is survived by one sister and brother in law, Evelyn and Bobby Gregory, Georgetown; one brother, Edgar M. Steele, Lexington; nephews and nieces, Mark and Michael McFadden, Monica Brunner,
Tamara Gregory, Carla Shelley and Seba Sims. One sister, Helen McFadden and one nephew, Matthew McFadden, preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 11:00AM Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 1:00 P.M. by Rev. Richard A. Weekley. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mark and Michael McFadden, Wendell Webb, Austin Adams, Marshall Shelley, Steve Sims and Alexander Boone. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
