Obituary for Lucille Kenley Lucas-Florian

Lucille Kenley Lucas-Florian, 95 passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016. Born January 13, 1921, daughter of the late Charles and Amanda Reynolds Kenley. She was the widow of Paul J. Lucas and Bennie Florian.

Surviving are her children, Paula and Bill Epperson, Steve and Christy Lucas; son-in-law, Johnny McGill; 5 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pat McGill and granddaughter, Karen McGill Bentley.

She came from a very close and loving family. She was the last of her brothers and sisters, Lillian Roberts, Lizzie Dotson, Maggie Barber, Katie Jordan, Della Dalton, JC Kenley and Leo Kenley.

Our mom was a wonderful woman full of fun and life. She always had a smile and was a great cook. She was always trying to feed whoever she came in contact with. Keeping with her love of people and fixing food for others. Pine Meadows was her home for the past 8 years. We want to thank the wonderful staff for the great care they gave to our mom.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Jim Groves. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as her casket bearers. Visitation will be 12 PM till service time. Keeping with her love of people and fixing food for others, in lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Gods Pantry, 1685 Jaggie Fox Way, Lexington, KY 40511.
