Evelyn M. Polley Gifford, 88, widow of Virgil Duke Gifford, passed away Sunday, November 12th, 2017. She was born March 17th, 1929 in Lewis County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ezra and Adda (McCann) Polley, Sr. Evelyn was a member of Grace Christian Church and she enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She is survived by one son, Dale (Brenda) Gifford; eleven grandchildren, Tony Gifford, Shawn Gifford, Chris (Christa) Gifford, Jamie (Samantha) Gifford, Jeremy Gifford, Niki (Chris) Brandenburg, Kayla (Adam) Day, Kourtney Gifford, Kaitlyn Gifford, Autumn Farler and Laci Gifford; nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters, Carol Polley, Peggy Wages, Ezra Polley, Jr., Rachel Johnson, Arona Kelley, Dallas Polley, Sue Lewis and Linda Wells. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Gifford and Keith Gifford; one daughter-in-law, Donna Gifford; six brothers and sisters, Frealyn Polley, Velma Phillips, Clara Smith, Paul Polley, Catherine Holloway and Joseph Polley. Visitation will be Sunday, November 19th from noon until time of service at 2pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Brown officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Gifford, Chris Gifford, Jamie Gifford, Jeremy Gifford, Chris Brandenburg, Adam Day, Bill Kelley and Kevin Darnell.
