I met Dan and Jackie through our work with daylilies and what a blessing they have both been in my life. Dan was truly a gentleman and a gentle man. He loved people. He took good care of Jackie and others who were around him. He liked to talk and it was a pleasure to hold a conversation with him. He was as interested in my topics as I had was in his.

Dan will be sorely missed. He loved his wife, his dogs and the outdoors. Thank you, God, for giving us the whole outdoors to remind us of this your special child.

As we go through life, there are a special few that really stand out and truly touch your hearts. Dan Canner is one of these. He was a person who gave freely of his time and was always happy to see you. Dan and Jackie gave back to their community by volunteering - they both had many talents from gardening, to baking and making candy were some of the many things they did together. Frequently we were given double plants or candy when making a purchase and always they would insist they didn't want any extra. How rare it is that they valued friendship over money. We also feel the same - good friends are priceless and its an honor to be one of them. We can surely say that these, the dearest of friends made a deep impact on our lives. They are cherished for being kindhearted and loving - most valuable attributes. We will miss you Dan. My heart says you are looking over all of us with a warm smile on your face! Your memory will always be cherished. Rob and Susan Jordan

Dan was such a great person! I enjoyed working with him in their gardens and learned a lot about plants from him. He was always friendly and I will forever miss his "Hi Deb" that he greeted me with. We worked but had fun making candy every year. He was so generous to everyone he met. in short, he was a helluva guy!
