Nancy's Family:
It is with a sad heart that I have learned from Sally about Nancy's death. Nancy, Sally and I grew up together, and we shared so many memorable times together during those "Wonder Years". Through
"Thick and Thin" we remained loyal friends. I can see "Mr" Ford right now - a dashing man with deep brown eyes and "Miss" Catherine, the sweetest, gentle woman, always with a smile on her face. She and "Miss" Lorraine and my mother Frances Nash were always looking out for us three girls. We learned to swim at Joyland, an amusement park outside Lexington, and "Miss" Catherine would usually drive us and sit up in the hot balcony overlooking the pool. I could write a book on our growing up days, but I'll hesitate!
Even though I have not lived in Georgetown for sixty-five years, Nancy and I have always been in contact. The last time I saw her was for lunch at Favas a couple of years ago. She looked so pretty in her green jacket. We had fun reminiscing and keeping our sense of humor about "our golden years".
I know that Nancy has been honored over the years and she is the most deserving person I know. She pioneered the rightful role of women in the business world. She was brilliant, loyal, giving,
compassionate, humble, and truly a role model for all.
Next to her family, Nancy's passion was
Georgetown, Ky. She has left a lasting legacy for this little town where we grew up. She had touched so many lives.
I live in Phoenix and am unable to be in Georgetown for her Memorial. I'll leave you with this Irish quite I'd like to share;
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
